Nature's Possession 2020-2021

This project started at the end of August 2020. By placing camera traps (seen right) in my grandmothers back garden. Camera traps more commonly know as hunting or game cameras are predominantly used for documenting wildlife in remote environments. I decided to use these devices in an unusual way to capture a different narrative and challenge the limits of photography.

This project shows the contrast and relationships between animals, humans, land and ownership. It explores the conflict and control of said land and how that control seems to shift between day and night. Have humans taken land from animals? Whos land is it? Who controls the land? Are animals trying to reclaim land or adapt to the change?
